Heiko Ehrhard is the founder and Managing Director of Yabylon GmbH. He stands for expertise, intercultural experience and reliability in working with international clients. After holding operations management positions in North America, Australia and Europe, he began building his expertise in Asian markets in 2003. Numerous stays in China and East Asia led to extensive business relationships and a deep understanding of the linguistic and cultural particularities of the region. Before starting Yabylon in 2010, he was responsible for localisation and consulting projects for global corporations at a leading language service provider. In addition to his native German, Heiko Ehrhard speaks fluent English, Spanish and Chinese – a linguistic diversity that enriches his daily work with international partners.
Li Yu is the co-founder of Yabylon GmbH and brings more than 25 years of experience as a translator, interpreter and project manager. Since 1997, he has worked for international clients across various industries and has successfully supported numerous Chinese companies in entering the European market. In addition to his work as a freelance business and technology journalist, Li Yu built up extensive expertise in multilingual project management. Today, he is primarily responsible for Yabylon’s operations, ensuring that projects are delivered smoothly and efficiently.
Motoko Yoshida has been part of the Yabylon team since its foundation, contributing her long-standing expertise as a technical and patent translator. With her specialist knowledge, she plays a major role in ensuring the high quality of Japanese translations for which Yabylon is known. She leads and supervises our Japanese translation teams and is responsible for quality management in all projects related to the Japanese language. Her expertise guarantees that complex technical texts are translated with linguistic precision, consistent terminology and cultural accuracy. In addition to her native Japanese, Motoko Yoshida speaks fluent German, English and Italian – a valuable asset in international projects.
Katja Seidel has been working as a specialist translator for English and Russian since 2008, gaining extensive experience in the translation industry – from start-ups and SMEs to international corporations. With her many years of experience in project management, she develops tailor-made, client-focused solutions and ensures that even complex translation projects are delivered efficiently and reliably. In addition to her native German, Katja Seidel speaks fluent English and Russian – language skills that enrich her daily work in international teams and projects.
After studying literary studies, Götz Baumeister entered the translation industry as a career changer. He first gained experience during his studies, translating specialised texts as part of a doctoral research assistantship. Since 2008, he has been working in the language services industry – both with local companies and internationally active organisations. His focus lies on working with various file formats, XML-based content management systems and leading CAT tools. In addition to his expertise in project management, he is distinguished by his keen eye for quality assurance: stylistic accuracy and linguistic precision are hallmarks of his work as a proofreader.
Götz Baumeister speaks English and French, and also has knowledge of Spanish and Indonesian.
Sarah Hebisch has been part of the Yabylon team since 2023. She successfully completed her studies as a specialised and media translator for English and French, and deepened her language skills through numerous stays in the United Kingdom as well as an extended exchange semester in South Korea. With her calm, focused and precise working style, she stands out for accuracy and efficiency. Thanks to her quick grasp of new topics, she adapts rapidly to new tools and shares her knowledge within the team. She also contributes specialist articles and blog posts, demonstrating her strong interest in current developments in the translation industry – particularly with regard to Asian languages. In addition to her native German, Sarah Hebisch speaks fluent English, French and Korean.
Tatiana Kichkina has been working as a project manager in the localisation and translation industry since 2008. With academic degrees in English Philology, Media Studies and Art History, she brings a broad and versatile knowledge base to her work. Her professional career has taken her to various international companies, where she continuously deepened her expertise in project management. With Eastern European roots and her life based in Germany, she skillfully connects European and Asian cultures with particular sensitivity. Tatiana ensures that translation projects are delivered not only with linguistic precision but also with cultural accuracy. Her native language is Russian, and she speaks fluent English, German and Ukrainian. Her openness to new languages and technologies is also reflected in her strong interest in the integration of AI into translation processes.
Lei Gao graduated in German Studies with a focus on translation in 2008 and began her career at one of China’s leading translation companies. There she gained valuable experience as a specialist translator and project manager. Since 2019, she has been an integral part of the Yabylon team. With her state-certified translator qualification in China and her specialisation in technical texts as well as creative marketing content, she combines subject-matter precision with stylistic sensitivity. As a reviewer, she applies her many years of experience together with modern quality assurance tools to ensure that translations are optimally adapted and of the highest linguistic quality. In addition to her native Chinese, Lei Gao speaks fluent German and English.
